footwashing and digression
6:42pm. Blogger finally finished republishing the index. I'm at work. Digressing (my life is full of digressions), and missing out on some footwashing. I was going to be late anyways.
Since I don't have a computer at home right now I thought I'd publish what I have of a new template before the weekend starts. It's not finished yet, but I welcome any comments.
Here's what I predict of reactions to it:
Christy will love it (bright and colorful -- exciting!!)
Susana will hate it (too much color. ugh)
Katelyn will like it, but will right away find things I should fix. You have a good eye Katelyn.
Jeff will say that he doesn't like it as he's never satisfied. (I know, he's my boss.)
I think that was everyone who left a comment about the template.
Anyhoo, let me know what you think.
Happy Maunday Thursday

Oh, and Ruth! (I just saw that you commented too.) I think you'll like it, but can't be too certain.
BTW: am planning on adding pictures too.

i like it, though the background blue is a little bright for me

Actually, I think it looks pretty good. I agree with Adam, the contrast on the titles and comment links needs some tweaking.
It seems I can't insert pictures here, but if you look at this, you'll see what I see when I view the site (with Firefox if it makes a difference). I've highlighted a couple of weird bits in red.
Zoe, I found the mp3s of the song I was telling you about. Unfortunately, it's split into four parts, but there it is.
One last thing: Yes, I may be your boss, but I hope that some day you would also be able to call me your friend. I think that Jeff the boss and Jeff the friend can in fact coexist.

You're right - I like it. How did you know?! Although (and you're right again) I'm still torn between liking the background blue and thinking it's too bright. Good on ya!
4:20 p.m.
Oh, and I should add that I giggled hysterically when I read what I would think of it...am I being slightly controlling & narcissistic??! Probably:)

What about Raspberry (#990033)? By the way, I'm liking the background blue although it was a little shocking at first.

I changed the title so that it can be read better.Your suggestion looked good Adam, so I went with #269. I tried the raspberry, K, but it was too busy when I added yet another colour. Added a temp fix to the corner issue which Jeff pointed out (I did see that but didn't get to changing it yet).
Katelyn: In answer to your question about how I knew you'd like it, I guess I must have gained an intuition about your (good) taste. I mean, I have known you for a few years now, and have been reading your blog for most of that time. You do write quite a bit about what you like and don't like on it. Oh, and I don't think you are being narcissistic or controlling. I love that I made you laugh. :)
p.s. does anyone ever call you kate?

Zoe,
That's ok about the raspberry - I was going to try it out against the background, but I didn't have time...so it was just a hunch. The colour Adam picked looks pretty good.
And, I guess I've never thought about it before, but um...yes. I do write a lot about what I like and don't like...
And as for people calling me Kate, some people do. It's not very common, because I usually introduce myself as Katelyn, but I don't mind. Carolyn Jolly calls me Kato (pronounced Kate-O)...more people used to call me Kato before I moved to halifax. (I knew Carolyn before that.) The one name I cannot stand people calling me is Katie (the only people I take THAT one from is my Dad and British people)...but other than that, most shortenings of my name like Kate and Kato are fine.
12:35 p.m.
BTW, I think you need to up the contrast with the comments link - I almost couldn't find it.
